Beaton Industrial is a Materials Handling Company that’s been servicing its customers since 1989. Our Service Department performs service work in a number of prominent NYS facilities. We are looking for an experienced career minded individual with a strong service technician background to become a long term member of our Service Team. Job purpose
- The service technician possess, maintains, and shares knowledge of all material handling products sold by Beaton Industrial.
- The service technician provides a professional and courteous repair service to customers. Allowing them to effectively maintain production based on their standards.
- The service technician is a core representative of Beaton Industrial. It is the Service Technicians mission to provide a superior level of customer service.
Duties and responsibilities
- Maintains safe environment by adhering to all safety standard protocols as outlined in Beaton Safety Operations Workbook.
- Maintains a professional appearance, attitude and demeanor. Committed to providing a superior level of customer service.
- Illustrates dependability and punctuality
- Understands Beaton Industrial is a service provider. At times, after hours and weekend commitments are required in response to customer production needs or emergency breakdowns. As such, you acknowledge and agree to fulfill this expectation.
- Demonstrates the ability to inspect and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic control systems.
- Organizes work by reviewing daily requirements; checking and gathering tools, supplies, and parts required to complete service repairs and or inspections.
- Communicates and documents details of repair requirements and repair resolution details.
- Works to minimize and mitigate oversights and “go- back” repairs.
- Completes all required paperwork and tablet data entries as required by repair or inspection.
- Performs vehicle maintenance checks according to Beaton maintenance checklist.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of maintenance vehicle.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading service publications.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid and Clean NYS Driver’s License
- NYS OSHA 10 Certification
- Experience with the repair and maintenance of Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Electrical Control Systems
- Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, and product maintenance and troubleshooting manuals
- Ability to effectively document and communicate technical repair related details.
- Other qualifications include; Lifting, Decision Making, Problem Solving, Reporting Research Results, Self-Motivated, Judgment, Results Driven, Quality Focus, Productivity, Safety Management
Working conditions
- Service Technicians work a 40 hr week. At times, after hours and weekend commitments are required in response to customer production needs or emergency breakdowns. As such, you acknowledge and agree to fulfill this expectation.
- At times environments require working outdoors in weather conditions and confined spaces.
- Worksite logistics often include overhead work in excess of 20ft.
Physical requirements
This job is physically demanding.
- Occasionally requires moderate and or team lifting.
- Frequent periods of walking, climbing, and lifting.

We are looking for an experienced career minded individual with a strong construction background to become a long term member of our Installation Team. - Illustrates dependability and punctuality
- Understands Beaton Industrial is an Equipment Installation provider. At times, after hours and weekend commitments are required in response to customer production needs or emergency. As such, you acknowledge and agree to fulfill this expectation.
- Demonstrates the ability to Install All Types of Materials Handling Equipment; I.E. Dock Levelers, Scissor Docks, Dock Seals and Shelters, Shelving & Rack Systems, Mezzanines, Conveyors, Bridge Cranes & Hoists, Section 10 Accessories, Implant Offices, etc.
- Organizes work by reviewing daily requirements; Reviewing and understanding work orders, checking and gathering tools, supplies, and parts required to complete Installations.
- Communicates and documents details of Installation Modifications & details.
- Works to minimize and mitigate oversights and “go- back” repairs.
- Work within SCOPE ONLY.
- Completes all required paperwork and tablet data entries as required.
- Performs vehicle maintenance checks according to Beaton maintenance checklist.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of maintenance vehicle.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading and understanding Product Manuals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid and Clean NYS Driver’s License
- NYS OSHA 10 Certification or better
- Experience with the basic principles of “Square”, Level”, “Plumb”
- Other qualifications include; Lifting, Decision Making, Problem Solving, Reporting Research Results, Self-Motivated, Judgment, Results Driven, Quality Focus, Productivity, Safety Management
Working conditions
- Installer work a 40 hr. week. At times, after hours and weekend commitments are required in response to customer production needs or emergency. As such, you acknowledge and agree to fulfill this expectation.
