Rain and Snow Protection
This particular project was located in the Northeast, and being that it is an outdoor application we designed a custom cantilevered roof to protect workers from the elements. The structure was designed to withstand our local snow load rating of 50 lbs per square foot. The column footings were beefed up to accommodate both the cantilevered roof, and the Tether Track system.
The End Result
Our customer is very pleased with the finished system. The employees are able to work safer and with more confidence, and that has resulted in an uptick in production. Employees are able to complete the wash down in almost half the time it used to take, because they are not confronted with the fear of falling with each step they take. Based on that alone, the return on investment will be a very quick one!

Gorbel Tether Track – Outdoor Fall Protection
Lately, we’ve seen a lot of requests come in for fall arrest systems in Tractor Trailer and Tanker Truck wash down bays. When you think about it, washing off one of those shiny round tanker trucks is probably one of the most dangerous jobs in the freight industry. Our customer was thinking the same thing, and decided to make the call to see how we could help alleviate that danger. After careful review of the application, we presented our customer with Tether Track fall arrest rigid rail lifeline system. Unlike the antiquated wire rope systems of the past, the rigid rail Gorbel Tether Track provides a much safer fall arrest as there is no slack to take up on the way down. See the photo below, and notice that the rigid rail system allows the second worker to save the fallen worker. Whereas the slack and dead-weight applied to the wire rope cable style system during a fall renders the second worker useless in helping the fallen worker.
