Nashville Chain Hoists

Nashville, Tennessee is home to the metal building manufacturer, Metal Sales Manufacturing. Our customer needed to replace their 1 Ton Coffing EC electric chain hoist with a 2 ton model. Up to this point, they were using (2) 1-ton chain hoists on a 2-ton Gorbel free standing crane system. They were able to do this by using 2 separate 1-ton bridges on a 2-ton runway. Therefore, we had to order in a new 2-ton bridge for the Gorbel system, and remove the 1 ton bridges. The Coffing EC series hoist was set up with a variable frequency drive (VFD). The VFD is a nice feature because it offers inching capability. This allows the hoist to be used in applications that require precise positioning of components. For example, lining up bolts with bolt holes for attaching metal panels together during modular construction.
